The Mississippi Division of Public Safety Planning - Office of Justice Programs and the Mississippi Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee (State Advisory Group) cordially invite you to the 40th Annual Mississippi Juvenile Justice Symposium on August 3-5, 2016 in Biloxi, MS. The theme for this year’s event is “Justice for All Youth: Learning from Our Past, Analyzing Our Present, and Preparing for Their Future.”

The purpose of the Juvenile Justice Symposium is to provide a venue whereby participants from varying disciplines can receive appropriate resources to help prevent juvenile delinquency by educating the professionals who serve throughout the State of Mississippi and the nation. The Symposium is careful to offer up-to-date training and information in an attempt to effectively respond to victimization by enhancing the knowledge among juvenile justice practitioners through training sessions conducted by national and state presenters who are leaders in their respective fields.

This year’s presenters include nationally acclaimed TV judge and founding partner of The Hatchett Firm, Judge Glenda Hatchett, and Robert Listenbee, Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The Symposium will offer sessions on Human Trafficking, Due Process & Custody, Use of Force, Gender Identity, Youth & Family Affairs, Criminal Justice Reform, Teens & Trauma, Reducing the School-to-Prison Pipeline, Cyber Delinquency, and more!
