CJJ | FY 2008 Juvenile Justice Programs Appropriations Report

FY 2008 Juvenile Justice Programs Appropriations Report

Before adjourning for the 2007 calendar year, Congress completed its work on the Commerce/Justice/Science Appropriations bill, passing a $555 billion omnibus bill that includes both winners and losers. Sadly, juvenile justice funding streams, including Title II and Title V, took additional hits over the previous years.

Congress did appropriate $93.8 million for JJDPA Part E Challenge Grants and Projects. These funds, however, are fully earmarked and will not be available to the states through their respective SAGs. Funding amounts for all juvenile justice programs and the earmarks—all 400+ of them—are listed in the CJS Report on Juvenile Justice Programs below. We encourage our members to review the list and determine which programs are getting dollars in your state for purposes of partnering, leveraging and strategically distributing the dollars that your SAG administers.
