CJJ | Congressional Contacts on JJDPA Reauthorization

U.S. House of Representatives

The reauthorization of the [1] Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA), due for consideration by the 110th Congress, will be handled by the House Education and Labor Committee. Comments regarding your views on reauthorization should be directed primarily to the Healthy Families and Communities Subcommittee—where it will be initially considered.

It is not too early to begin to educate yourselves and members of Congress about the value of the federal JJDPA and the need to ensure a strong and proactive bipartisan reauthorization to keep juvenile delinquency rates at the current historically low rates.
